Jesus Grado

Funeral Services for Jesus Manuel Rey Grado, Of Artesia, will be held at 2 p.m. on January 6, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, in Artesia. Mr. Grado, 57, left us on Thursday, January 1st, 2009 at Convenent Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 5 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with a rosary following at 6:30 p.m. He will be put to rest near his parents and brother in the Lake Arthur Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Grado, Raymond Perez Jr., Dylon Grado, Jose Luis Grado, Balthazar Hernandez Jr., Sergio Paz Sr., Gabriel Rodriguez, and Nick DeLaRosa. Honorary Pallbearers will be all Mr. Grados grandchildren. Mr. Grado was born on July 12, 1951 in Redford, Texas to Manual and Manuela Grado. He came to Lake Arthur, New Mexico, around the age of 8, where he spent most of his young life, helping his beloved parents. He met and married the love of his life, Rose Chavarria Grado, on November 21, 1971, in Artesia, New Mexico, where they have made their home for the past 38 years. For most of his life, he worked as a farm laborer. For the following several years, he worked and owned, along with his sons , J G Tire Services . He most recently retired due to his illness. Besides loving and spending time with his wife, children, family and many friends, He spent a lot of time fulfilling his passion and pride of caring, training and racing his horses. Mr. Grado is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Manuela Grado, brother, Guadalupe Wally Grado, 2 nephews, Lupito Grado and Martin Tootie Grado Jr. Surviving Mr. Grado is his loving wife, Rose C. Grado, of the home. 4 daughters; Patty Perez and husband Raymond and their children, Raymond Jr., Victoria , and Daniel Perez, Mary Jane Grado and Nick DeLaRosa, their children, AnaLisa and Alyssa DeLaRosa. Jessica Paz and her children, Sergio II and Ashley Paz. Monica Grado and Angel Fierro and their children, Jenacee Rose and Angel Jesus Fierro III. All of Artesia. 3 sons; Jessie Grado Jr. and wife Angela, and their children, Dylon, Marissa, Jessie III, McKayla, and McKenzie Grado. Christopher Grado and his children, Jaqueline and Christopher Grado II. Eric Grado and his children, Eric II, Ryan, and Taylor Grado. All of Artesia. Also one sister, Rosa Grado and husband Baltazar, and two brothers; Oscar Grado and wife Arcilia, Martin Grado and wife Christina. Also numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.
