Jesus Alvarado

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jesus G. Alvarado of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Alvarado, 82, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Paul Alvarado, Peter Alvarado, Jr., Anthony Alvarado, Fabian Alvarado, Gabriel Alvarado, Adan Alvarado, and Andrea Alvarado. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the remaining grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Alvarado was born May 8, 1928 in Sweetwater, Texas the son of Pedro Alvarado and Guadalupe Guerrero Alvarado.

He was raised in Presidio, Texas until moving to Artesia in 1945. On Sept. 3, 1950 he was married to Adelaida Calderon in Presidio, Texas.

Jesus worked as a hay loader and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents stepfather Delores Cervantez daughter Helena Alvarado brothers Angel Alvarado, Salome Alvarado, Luz Cervantez and sister Belen Jimenez.

Survivors include his wife Adelaida Alvarado of the family home sons Jesus Alvarado, Jr. and wife Linda Campos of Artesia, Manuel Alvarado and wife Margaret of Hobbs, Peter Alvarado and wife Gloria of Monument, N.M., Ricardo Alvarado and Elsa Frietze of Hobbs, Lalo Alvarado and wife Lori of Hobbs, and Martin Alvarado and wife Frances of Artesia daughter Irene Villalobos and husband Armando of Hobbs brothers Federico Alvarado of Odessa, Texas, Dolores Cervantez of Odessa, Jose Cervantez of Odessa, and Ernesto Cervantez of Odessa sister Lilia Rodriguez of Odessa 24 grandchildren 44 greatgrandchildren and 1 greatgreatgrandchild.
