Jessie Garcia

Mrs. Jessie N. Garcia, 82, died on May 11, 2022 in Artesia.

Communion service will be officiated by Deacon Richard Rodriguez at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church 1111 N. Roselawn Street, Artesia, New Mexico. Visitation will begin on Friday, May 20th at 9:00 am with rosary at 9:30 am followed with a communion service at 10:00 am and visitation to follow after service till 11:00 am

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Jessie was born on July 5, 1939 in Terlingua, Texas; the daughter of Santiago Jaques and Patricia Lujan Jaques. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Antonio B. Navarrette and later married Gene Garcia on June 1, 1983, who also preceded her in death. Her siblings, brothers Manuel Jaques, Joe Jaques, and Salvador Jaques. Sisters Jane Bejarano, Toni Palma, and Josie Martinez.

She was a longtime resident of Artesia. She worked as a nurse's aide for many years and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Jessie loved to crochet, garden and cook for family gatherings. She loved spending time with her grandchildren hosting numerous birthday parties, trips to Mescalero and was an avid Bulldog fan.

Survivors include her daughters, Velma Rodriguez and husband Deacon Richard, Connie Richardson, and Sandra White and husband Bill. Her sisters Carmen Brito and husband Daniel, Pina Rocha and husband Lalo and Maria Hernandez and brother Jim Jaques and wife Connie. Her grandchildren Richard Anthony Rodriguez and Allison, Christina Marie Luevano and Dusty, Alyssa Webb and husband Adam, Christopher Ray Rodriguez and Ronnie, Brett Davis and husband Austin, and Nathan Andrew Luevano. Great grandchildren Kylie Joann Mendoza, Braxton Ice Webb, Micah Genao, Ariah Dehoyos, Cutter Ryan and Layke Davis.
