Jerry Viernes

Memorial graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Woodbine Cemetery for Jerry Jr. Viernes.

Fr. Vijay Raju will officiate at the services.

Jerry Jr. Viernes, 46, died March 20, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas at UMC Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Jerry was born June 12, 1974 in Portales, New Mexico to Beatrice Ontiveros and Jeronimo Viernes.

Jerry was a man who was very passionate in his work.  He enjoyed working in the oilfield for many years as a lead tong, derrick man, chain hand, and motor man.  He had a great sense of humor and was artistic.  He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his time with friends.  He was always there in anyone's time of need.  He was loved deeply by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his sister Christina Ayala, grandmother Benita Viernes and great-grandparents Paula Munoz and Charlie Munoz.

Survivors include his mother Beatrice Barenca; father Jeronimo Viernes; a son Isreal Viernes; a daughter Jasmine Raglin; brothers Osmond, Joe, Pete, Christopher, Jeronimo, and Gilbert Viernes; sisters Amy, Jessica, Alice, Laurie, and Selena Viernes; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
