Jerry Frank Coupland passed away September 23, 2021 at Artesia General Hospital. Visitation will be at Terpening and Son Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021. Graveside services will be at the Pinon Cemetery on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Pinon, N.M. A potluck dinner will follow at the Pinon Community Center.
Jerry was born April 5, 1972 in Albuquerque N.M. He started school in Las Cruces, N.M. After moving to the family ranch in Pinon, he attended school in Weed, N.M. and then was home schooled. He began his cowboy career day working around the mountains, later employed full time on several local ranches. Jerry was currently employed by Central Valley Electric Coop. in Artesia.
Jerry thoroughly enjoyed and embraced the cowboy life. He made many friends while working on these ranches. He traveled many miles hauling livestock. He was an avid lover of Peterbilts and music. His heart and love has always been in the mountains on the ranch.
Survivors include fiance Melissa Lopez of Artesia, son Jack Rawley, twin brother Dan (Lori) of Pinon, brother Scott (Julie) of Azle, TX, his parents Jack and Dana Coupland, niece Kylee and nephew Curt. Jerry is also survived by uncles James Owen (Jeanette) Coupland, Bobby Melton and aunts Kelly (Mitch) Hibbard and Peggy(Danny) Montgomery all of Pinon, great aunt Dorthy Budagher (Billy) of Albuquerque NM, great aunt Marilyn Johnson of Roswell, N.M. and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Ruth Coupland and Oliver and Wilmoth Johnson, aunt Sue Melton and cousin Earl Montgomery.
Memorial donations may be made to Tunnels 2 Towers or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
