Jere Whiting

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 19, at First United Methodist Church Hagerman, New Mexico, for Jere Wescott Whiting, Hagerman. Mr. Whitinq, 59, died Tuesday, April I5, 2003, at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. Rev. Wayne Hatfield will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Whiting was born July 19, 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts; the son of Bartlett Jere Whiting and Helen Wescott Whiting. On June 16, 1966 he was married to Janet Hewitt n Bennington, Vermont. He came to Hope, NM in 1964 and moved to Hagerman in 1996. He was a miner in the Zinc mines in New Jersey. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Hagerman. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Janet Whiting of the family home; sons Jedediah Whiting of Lompoc, Calif., Jacob Whiting of Northport, Maine, Jesse Whiting of Northport, Jonas Whiting of Gainesville,. Florida, Joseph Whiting of Hagerman; daughter Jobyna Whiting of Gainesville; 9 grandchildren.
