Memorial services are scheduled at 11:00 A.M. Sunday, May 15, at Sunken Gardens in Cahoon Park in Roswell, New Mexico for Jeanette Simpkins of Hope, New Mexico. Mrs. Simpkins, 71 died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at her home. Family members will officiate at the services. Burial has already taken place at the Woodbine Cemetery under the supervision of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mrs. Simpkins was born February 24, 1934 in Madison County, Kentucky; the daughter of William Owen Purvis and Ruth Milton Purvis. Mrs. Simpkins was a longtime Roswell resident until moving six weeks ago to Hope. She worked as a homemaker for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and two brothers. Survivors include three sons Terry Lee Purvis of Florida, James Nicholas Ryan of Elnora, Indiana, and Ernest D. Ryan of Indiana; sister Edna Cory of Hope, N.M.; brother Delbert A. Purvis of Kokomo, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
