Jason Valencia

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, at Primera Iglesia Bautista for Jason Valencia of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Valencia, 22, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room. Rev. Avalardo Bolanos will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Galindo, Ramiro Valencia, Joseph Araujo, Allen Gallegos, Josh Muniz, and Dario Velasquez. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning 12:00 p.m. Mr. Valencia was born February 1, 1987 in Union City, Tennessee; the son of Joe Luis Valencia and Carole Rechele Walker Valencia. Jason came to Artesia in 2002 from Kentucky. He worked as a cook for McDonalds. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Felipe Valencia. Survivors include his mother Carole Valencia of Fulton, Kentucky; father Joe Valencia of Artesia; grandmother Virginia Valencia of Artesia; brother James Valencia of Mayfield, Kentucky; sisters Jessica Sosa and husband Mark of Las Cruces, N.M., and Ashlea Berryhill of Fulton; uncles Jessie Valencia of Artesia, and Eddy Valencia of Artesia; aunts Rosa Torres of Artesia, Helen Valencia of Artesia, Lupe Gallegos of Lovington, N.M., Olga Velasquez of Lovington, Irma Valencia of Artesia, and Cindy Martinez of Lovington; and numerous cousins and a nephew.
