Jason Cole Allred, aged 25, of Artesia, New Mexico, passed away on June 24, 2024. Born on August 22, 1998, in Hobbs, New Mexico, Jason grew up in a loving family and attended Yucca Elementary and Artesia High School before furthering his education at the University of New Mexico.
Jason dedicated five years of service to the Navy, where he excelled as an IT technician. His career in the military was marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for technology, which he planned to continue post-service in a remote role that allowed him to live in the mountains.
A man of faith, Jason would attend Faith Baptist Church in Artesia. His life was characterized by a robust caring nature; he often prioritized the needs of others above his own and approached life with a blend of humor and determination. Known for his intelligence and stubbornness, Jason was also a young man whose potential was limitless to do whatever he put his mind to. He was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying workouts, runs, and bowling. He played football in his early years. He had a love for movies, gaming, playing chess and reading, which provided him with endless hours of enjoyment.
Jason is survived by his father, Nathan Allred, and mother, Kelby Allred; his siblings, Dusty Allred, Casey Allred, and Katlynn Rogers; and his grandparents, JC Allred, Betty Allred, and Kerry and Kathy Shahan. He leaves behind his Aunt Kindy Shahan, Uncle Kody Shahan, Aunt Kathryn Pritchard, Aunt Kimberly Ryan, and Aunt Kim Allred, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his uncles, JC and Dodson.
A viewing will be held at Terpening and Son Chapel on July 11, 2024 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, immediately followed by a Memorial Ceremony at 2:00 pm. After the ceremony, a celebration of life will be held at Nathan and Kim's house at 305 West Centre.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jason can be made to the Humane Society of Artesia, honoring his love for animals. Jason's legacy of kindness, laughter, and resilience will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
