James Wyatt, Jr.

Memorial services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 31, at Valley Christian Church for James Leroy Wyatt of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Wyatt, 65, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Pastor Steve Ormord will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

James was born September 12, 1946 in Lebanon, Indiana the son of James L. Wyatt, Sr and Dolores Gunion Wyatt.

He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.

On December 7, 1974 he was married to Nancy Long in Frankfort, Indiana. He came to Artesia in 1977 from Indiana.

Jim worked as a police officer and a detension officer for the Artesia Police Department. He was a member of the Valley Christian Church, Christian Mortorcylce Association, and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Wyatt of the family home daughter Shannon Wyatt and husband David Dennis of Artesia sons Kurt Wyatt and wife Maria of Artesia, Donovan Wyatt and wife Heather of Artesia, and Shane Wyatt and wife Gracie of Artesia sisters Pam Lewis of Artesia, and Kim Blackburn of Artesia grandchildren Shablee Skinner and fiance Travis, Kaitlynn Wyatt, Chloe Wyatt, Jayla Wyatt, Matthew Graham Wyatt, and Taylor Wyatt and greatgrandchild Payton DeMerritt.
