Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 30, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Carlsbad, New Mexico for James Robert Taylor, of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Taylor, 76, died Friday, October 27, 2006 at Peachtree Village in Roswell, New Mexico. Rev. Jason Kraft will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Timothy Welch, R.B. Staffel, Johnathan Arney, Scott Arney, Marty Fletcher, and Tommy Fletcher. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Mr. Taylor was born June 16, 1930 in Mountainair, New Mexico; the son of Sidney E. Taylor and Nina A Lester Taylor. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Bob was married to Nelda June Athey in June of 1955 in Carlsbad, N.M. He came to Artesia in 1992 from Pecos, New Mexico. He worked as an insurance adjuster for Allstate Insurance Company. He was a member of West Main Baptist Church and the Artesia Elks lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers. Survivors include his son James Lee Taylor and wife Bonnie of Golden, Colorado; sisters Jean Fletcher and husband Loy of Artesia, Glenda Staffel and husband R.B. of Carlsbad, and Sue Mauldin and husband Lynn of Artesia; grandchildren Rachael, Brooke, Ricky and his wife Elliana, and Veronica; and great-grandson Mateo.
