James Simer

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 24, at Terpening Son Chapel for James D. Simer of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Simer, 35, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Rev. Don Johnston will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clint White, Jimmy Martin, Wayne Wallace, Doug Lewis, Robby Morgan, and Mike Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be John Pinkerton and his numerous friends. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Simer was born August 15, 1972 in Artesia; the son of Edward Gidak and Elizabeth A. Simer Gidak. James was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a Derrick Hand for Sludge Drilling Company and obtained 3 LPG gas licenses. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his parents Edward and Elizabeth Gidak of Artesia; daughter Madison Simer of Carlsbad, N.M.; sons Vance Simer of Carlsbad, and Jakoda Mathews of Artesia; brother Chad Little of Artesia; and nephew Gage Simer of Artesia.
