Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 11, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for James Stanley Murdock, 1901 Villa Drive, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Murdock, 96, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Rev. David Grousnick will officiate at the services. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday Mr. Murdock was born February 8, 1912 in Alma, West Virginia; the son of William Willis Murdock and Ollie Kibble Murdock. On Aug. 1, 1937 he was married to Audrie May English in Sisterville, W.Virginia. He came to Artesia in 1947 from Marietta, Ohio. She preceded him in death June 1982. He married Kathleen H. Grubbs in Nov. 1987 in Artesia. She preceded him in death in March 2000. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a Tool and Die Maker. He was the Owner and Vice-President of Murdock Machine Inc. He was a member of First Christian Church, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by parents, a son Stephen D. Murdock, step-son Wayne Grubbs, brothers Burl Murdock, Denzel Murdock, Wayne Murdock and William Murdock, step-brothers Paul Murdock and Charles Murdock and step-sister May Murdock Riggs. Survivors include sons Allan K. Murdock of Artesia, and Mike Murdock of Ft. Worth, Texas; step-daughter Kay Grubbs Northam of Texas City, Texas; brother Bernard Murdock of Pittsburgh, Penn.; sisters Connie Sturm of Citrus Heights, Calif., Katie Rex of New Martinsville, W. Virginia, and Betty Schupbach of Cambridge, Ohio; 4 grandchildren Deborah Murdock Harms of Abilene, Texas, Darren M. Murdock of Ft. Worth, Thomas C. Bishop of Roswell, N.M., and Erica L. Bishop of Austin, Texas; 4 great-grandchildren Justin, Stacy, Braden and David.
