James Bratcher, Jr.

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 28 at Lake Arthur Cemetery for longtime area resident James C Bratcher, Jr. Mr. Bratcher, 50, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 in Odessa, Texas. Rev. Raymond Derrick will officiate at the services. Mr. Bratcher's brothers and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. He was born July 21, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico; the son of James C. Pete Bratcher, Sr. and Virginia Foster Bratcher. He was a lifelong Artesia resident until moving to Odessa, Texas in 1992. He was a water pump machinist and member of the Baptist denomination. He was preceded in death by his father in April of 2001. Survivors include his mother Virginia Bratcher of Artesia; sons James Jamey Bratcher of Roswell, N.M. and Jason Bratcher and wife Henrietta of Chicago, Ill.; brothers David Bratcher and wife Angela of Artesia, Jack Bratcher and wife Sue of Farmington, N.M., John Bratcher of Artesia, and Earl Bratcher and wife Jennifer of Artesia; a sister Susan Robinson and husband Robbie of Hobbs, N.M.; and granddaughters Kacie Dawn Bratcher and Karie Lynn Bratcher.
