James Benton

Memorial services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at West Side Church of Christ for James Mike Benton who passed away at the family home on June 26th, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was born on November 1, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas. He moved to Artesia in 1998 and operated HR Block. He was a loving, caring husband, father, and friend.

Survivors include his wife Melody Benton of the family home parents Gladys and Charles Benton of Roswell, N.M. sons David Rossman of Artesia, Chad and wife Melissa of Tucumcari, N.M., Todd and wife Karina of Melrose, N.M., and Michael and wife Crystal of Justin, Texas grandchildren Brittany, Brenna, Logan, Aaren, Kaitlyn, and Alysa brother Larry Benton and wife Connie of Roswell and nephews Bryan and Kirk Benton.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
