James Beauchamp, Sr.

Memorial services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Faith Baptist Church for James Jim Duncan Beauchamp of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Beauchamp, 66, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.

Michael Elliott will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Jim was born November 10, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma the son of Mary Maldin Beauchamp.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietman Conflict.

On December 17, 1966 he was married to Linda Kelley in Brentwood, CA. They moved to Artesia in 2001 from Arnold, CA.

Jim retired from the Southern Pacific Rail Road Company in 1984. He then started work in the security field and was a security officer with F.L.E.T.C. here in Artesia.

He was preceded in death by his parents sister Nona Talley and a nephew.

Survivors include his wife Linda Beauchamp of the family home son James Jim Beauchamp, Jr. of Artesia daughters Melissa Diane Smith and husband Shane of Artesia, and Marcy Lynn Lechleiter and husband Jason of Artesia grandchildren Colby Smith, Hannah Hughes, Drew Beauchamp, Jakob Lechleiter, Jared Beauchamp, Nate Leichleiter, and Katie Smith brothers Donald and Wayne Beauchamp sisters Omega, Lorraine, and Joanne.
