Jake Michael Williams A.K.A. "Mikey" began his journey on April 21st 1952. He was the blessing to Earl Michael and Eunice Marie Williams. He was raised with his uncles Roger and Robert as brothers and that's when the joys of life began! In a few years along came sister Diane and twins Lee and Linda. Although starting in Albuquerque his life's travels landed him in Artesia in his early twenties, his love of mechanics and speed led him to a fulfilling life of racing and turning wrenches. During the week he was the hard working mechanic that everybody knew, trusted and wanted to be around. But come Friday night when he strapped on the helmet and 5-point harness it was circle track bound, where the oil and dirt met to his enjoyment and gained many a trophies.
Over the years his trophies grew to include his children Johnnie, Judy, Michael Jr, Jason, Anna, Barbara and Tiffany Ann. A jack of all trades and a master of none, he was known by many a name such as Grandpa Mike, Uncle Mike, Poppy and the list goes on and on. Hidden treasures that came out later in life were his lost brothers and sister Leon, Scott and Joan.
Some of the most cherished trophies that he passed on to us were sincerity, passion, unconditional love, ethics, truth and honor, acceptance, honesty, compassion, non-judgemental, and his never ending blessed love.
Those carrying Michael home will be his brothers in Christ: Lee, Jason, Wesley, Trancey, and two grandsons Devin and Skye. Honorary brothers and sisters include his abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the many others that called him family.
His celebration of life will be held 10AM Wednesday May 17th, 2017 at West Main Baptist Church, graveside services to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
