Services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday, September 2, at Faith Baptist Church for Jacobo Andres Carbajal of Artesia, New Mexico.
Jacobo, 37, died on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Michael Duff will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hiram Ortega, Chris Aguilar, Miguel Gonzales, Dominic Gomez, Ross Gabaldon, and Tootie McNeil. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Johnson, Edel Villa, Angelo Madrid, Joe Ontiveros, Simon Chavez, Jason Segura and Randy Samora. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 1-4 pm on Wednesday. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 pm on Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Jacobo was born on August 25, 1984 in Watsonville, California; the son of Dean Samora and Sonia Carbajal.
He was a gauger in the oil field. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, watching sports, especially the Braves and the Cowboys, and cooking out on Sundays. He was also Nino to Eli and Nyah.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Eli Chavarria, and great-grandparents Maria and Andres Marquez.
He is survived by his wife Dedra; parents Dean Samora and Sonia Carbajal; a son Jacey Carbajal, sister Elianna Longoria and husband David; brothers Diego Samora, Anthony Samora and wife Nikkole, and Alonzo Samora; nieces and nephews Ariyah, Elias, Dasia, and Sophia; grandparents Elma and Faustino Sanchez, Beatrice and Clover Samora and Santos Carbajal.
