Jacob was born on December 20, 1991 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of Errmilo Olivas and Patricia Ann Herrera Olivas.
Jacob had a huge heart and the biggest smile you probably ever saw. He was not about having things, but about doing things for and helping others. Jacob loved his Artesia Bulldogs, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Dodgers, Michigan Wolverines, and we can't forget Slipknot. Recently, he was involved in MMA training with Milo Schoonmaker, his mentor and friend. But most of all, he loved his precious babies, Amaia and Ben. They were the sunshine in the deepest part of his soul. He will truly be missed by all his friends and family. Jacob was a simple man.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Luis and Geneva Herrera.
Survivors include his parents Errmilo and Pat Olivas; a daughter Amaia Olivas; a son Benjamin Olivas; brothers Chris Olivas and Adrian Olivas and wife Shana; nieces and nephew Melina Olivas, Micah Olivas, Caiya Olivas, Cati Olivas and Calina Olivas; grandparents Alejandro and Juana Olivas; his 2nd set of parents Anita and Tommy DeHoyos; god father Freddie "Booboo" Chavarria; god son Jameson De La Rosa; and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church in the name of Jacob Olivas.
