Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, at First Baptist Church for Jackie D. Lockhart of Artesia, New Mexico. PA memorial graveside service is also planned for 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M. PMr. Lockhart, 72, died Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Artesia General Hospital. PRev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial of the cremated remains at the National Cemetery in Sante Fe, New Mexico. PA reception will follow the services at First Baptist Church. PCremation is under the care of Terpening amp; Son Mortuary. PMr. Lockhart was born August 27, 1934 in Roswell, New Mexico; the son of Leo Lockhart and Bernice Weldy Lockhart. POn June 5, 1995 he was married to Vanda Rhodes in Artesia. He came to Artesia in 1972 from California. PHe served in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant for 20 years during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired in 1972. PHe was preceded in death by his father; sons James Lockhart and Kevin Rhodes; and daughter Lisa Lockhart.
Survivors include his wife Vanda Lockhart of the family home; daughters Karen Curry of Albuquerque, N.M., and Julie Gomez and husband Joe of Artesia; son Robert Lockhart of Hawaii; sisters Darlene Hall, and Billie June Tibbits both of Belen, N.M.; grandchildren Jessica Curry of Edgewood, N.M., Samantha Curry of Albuquerque, Edwardo Gomez of Artesia, Amilee Gomez of Artesia, Alexis Gomez of Artesia, Desirae Gomez of Artesia, Angel Gomez of Artesia, and Chance Rhodes-Woods of Tennesee Spring Hill, Tennessee; great-grandchildren Marilyn-Day Curry, and Kiy Curry both of Albuquerque.
