Jack Smith

Services are scheduled at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, at Terpening Son Chapel for Jack Carroll Smith, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Smith, 87, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Atesia General Hospital. Rev. Rick Sullivan and Rev. Walt Isaacs will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born March 21, 1915 in Dallas, Texas; the son of Lee Smith and Roxie Green Smith. On Feb. 2,1936 he was married to Veleria Ratliff in Big Spring, Texas. He came to Artesia in April of 1981 from El Paso, Texas. He was an El Paso Times Circulation Manager and member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters Survivors include wife Veleria Smith of the family home; son Jack C. Smith, Jr. of Granbury, Texas; two grandchildren Christopher T. Attel, and Michael D. Smith; three great-grandchildren Nicholas Attel, Emily Attel, and Morgan Q. Smith.
