Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 7 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jacinto V. Arredondo of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Arredondo, 81, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lino Arredondo, Julio Arredondo, David Madrid, Sergio Puentes, Faustino Pizarro, Alejandro Moncayo, Enrique Moncayo, and Jacinto Arredondo, Jr.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday, September 6 beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace.
Jacinto was born on September 11, 1934 in San Bernardo, Durango, Mexico to Miguel Arredondo and Santos (Vega) Arredondo.
On March 2, 1953 he was married to Maria Orquiz in Mexico. They moved to Artesia on February 2, 1980 and have lived here ever since.
Jacinto worked as a derick hand for Mack Chase. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed deer hunting and gardening. His passion was his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Audencio, Marcelino, Julio, Ernesto, and Jose Arredondo; daughter Rosa Maria Arredondo; a brother and a sister.
Survivors include his wife Maria of the family home; daughters Lydia Moncayo and husband Rito of Dalton, Georgia, Christina Pizarro of Artesia, Ramona Arredondo of Artesia, and Fernanda Arredondo married to Estevan Grado of Artesia; son Jacinto Arredondo, Jr. and Marisela Olivas of Artesia; sisters Norberta Pizarro and Gregoria Moreno both of Durango, Mexico, Germana Gallegos of Chaparral, N.M., and Manuela Gaytan of Vado, N.M.; brothers Hilario Arredondo of Anthony N.M., Eulojio Arredondo of Juarez, Mexico, Francisco Arredondo of Juarez, Aurelio Arredondo of Vado, and Reyes Arredondo of Oklahoma City, OK; 27 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
