J. Gissler

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 10, at First Baptist Church for J. W. Bill Gissler of Artesia. Mr. Gissler, 68, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at his ranch west of Artesia. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Dowell, David Jackson, Bill Rountree, Alan May, Jay May and Richard Gatewood. Honorary pallbearers will be all coffee drinking friends and business acquaintances. Mr. Gissler was born December 2, 1935 in Artesia; the son of Howard Tell Gissler and Mattie Mae Jackson Gissler. His parents preceded him in death. He was a rancher; a member of First United Methodist Church; and had served in the National Guard. Survivors include a sister June May of Albuquerque, N.M.; nephews David Alan May of Albuquerque and Jay Steven May of Midland, Texas; a niece Paula Ruth Gatewood of Alpine, Texas; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; aunts Mary Dowell of Artesia and Anna F. Walton of Artesia; and numerous cousins.
