Isabelle Trevino

Memorial mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Isabelle Garcia Trevino of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Trevino, 93, died April 3, 2019 at Artesia General Hospital.

Fr. V. J. will officiate at the services with burial of the cremated remains to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace.

Isabelle was born July 8, 1925 in Terlingua, Texas the daughter of Luis and Felipa (Aguirre) Garcia.

On May 28, 1959 she was married to Pedro C. Trevino in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Artesia in 1998 from Pittsburg, California. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; first husband Jose Valenzuela; son-in-law Monroy Castillo, Sr.; grandchildren Mattlee, and Felix; 2 brothers; and a sister.

Isabelle was a longtime Artesia resident, and enjoyed dancing, music, cooking, and BBQing. Her and her husband were owner/operators of their own landscaping business. She was a hard worker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter Mary Lou of Artesia; grandchildren Monroy Castillo, Jr. and wife Lori of Artesia, Caroline Pina and husband Ramon of Artesia, Joey Castillo of Artesia, Rose Mary Calderon and husband Michael of Artesia, and Manuel Castillo and wife Yuri of Las Cruces, N.M.; 17 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren; and the expected birth of twins; brother Felix Garcia, Sr.; sisters Margie Rodriguez and Flora Garcia; and numerous nieces and nepews.
