Irene Roark

Memorial services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Terpening Son Chapel for Irene Powers Roark, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Roark, 56, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her home.

Paul Hollandsworth will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Irene was born December 18, 1956 in St. Louis, Illinois the daughter of Howard A. Powers and Mary A. Swift Powers. She came to Artesia in 1976 from Las Cruces, NM.

On April 28, 1978 she was married to Jerry Roark in Carlsbad, NM.

She was a housewife and a member of Church of God. She loved her family, enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, music and animals.

Survivors include her husband Jerry Roark of Artesia son Jeremy Roark and wife Shandel of Artesia daughters Cobre Lynette Burrel of Roswell, NM and Tabitha Sheree Roark of Artesia numerous brothers and sisters 9 grandchildren Chawnee Roark, Dizaray Roark, Dustin Roark, Jaclyn Roark, Ashley Roark, Brianna Masters, Coby Roark all of Artesia, and Michael Lara and John Jacob Lara of Roswell.
