Irene Brown

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 22, at Woodbine Cemetery for Irene Tiny Brown, 1601 W. Centre Apt., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Brown, 67, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at her home. Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Phillips, Patrick Long, Curtis Hellums, Dale Bean, and Lazaro Rodriguez. No visitation is scheduled. Mrs. Brown was born December 18, 1937 in Oklahoma; the daughter of Jesse James Morgan and Francis Viola Ford Morgan. On Oct. 31, 1953 she was married to Jackie Dean Brown in Carlsbad, N.M. She was a longtime resident of Artesia. He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1986. She was a homemaker and member of Victory Baptist Church. She loved to sing gospel music. Preceded in death by parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, and a daughter Penny Brown. Survivors include son Jackie Brown of Artesia; daughters Donna Hendrix of Artesia, Brenda Long of Carlsbad, Ellie Phillips of Artesia, and Lisa Armstrong of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; sister Mary Boston of Hulbert, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
