Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church for Imogene Franklin Loyd of Artesia, New Mexico..
Mrs. Loyd, 81, passed away at her home on March 1, 2017.
Monty Leavell will officiate at the service. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons and great-grandsons. A private family burial at Woodbine Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Imogene was born on August 22, 1935 in Minco, Oklahoma; the daughter of Asberry Thomas and Zelma Mae (Williams) Waldrop. She came to Artesia in 1941 from California. On April 28, 1953 she married Jim Franklin in Lovington, NM. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1992. On August 14, 1999 she was married to Bobby Loyd, He preceded her in death on March 28, 2006.
Imogene was a homemaker, florist and caregiver. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed oil painting, cards and dominoes.
Survivors include her daughters Sherry Berry and her husband Jerry of Wilson, OK, Cindy Carpenter and husband Jay of Williamsburg, NM, Jamie Johnson of Artesia and Kim Johnson and husband Mitchel of Artesia; grandchildren Melissa Dooley and husband Jon of Frisco, TX, James Berry of San Angelo, TX, Beau Carpenter and wife Amanda of Odessa, TX, Jake Carpenter and wife Racheal of Rincon, NM, Jess Carpenter and wife Cindy Lou of Artesia, Brian Johnson and wife Aimee of Lake Arthur, NM, Jessica Sedillo and husband Mike of Albuquerque, NM, Megan Lyon and husband Geoffrey of Fort Bragg, NC and Oliver Johnson and wife Tarran of Las Cruces, NM; great-grandchildren Jackson Dooley, Emma Mae Dooley, Lee Laney, Cordell Laney, Evelyn Carpenter, Colten Carpenter, Grace Carpenter. Jae Lynn Carpenter, Piper Johnson, Lily Sedillo and Ellie Mae Lyon.
