Hortensia Guajardo

Services are scheduled for 9:30 A.M. Friday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Hortensia Guajardo, Artesia, N.M. Ms. Guajardo, 49, died Tuesday evening, Dec. 7, 2004 in Artesia. Pallbearers will be John Guajardo, Luis Guajardo, Julian Guajardo, Manuel Guajardo, Audencio, Guajardo, John Guajardo, and Julio Arredondo. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. A vigil service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace. Hortensia was born Oct. 16, 1955 in Midald, Texas; the daughter of John R. Guajardo and Cruz Fierro Guajardo. She came to Artesia from Texas in 1957. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Ms. Guajardo was preceded in death by her father and by a great-nephew Daniel. Survivors include her mother Cruz Guajardo of Artesia; sisters Frances Arredondo, Rita Castillo, Amelia Chavez, Rosa Guajardo, Maria Lawson, and Margaret Guajardo all of Artesia; brothers John Guajardo, Jr. and wife Mary of Hobbs, N.M., Luis Guajardo and wife Sylvia of Tucson, Ariz., Manuel Guajardo and wife Lucy of Artesia, and Julian Guajardo of Artesia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
