Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Horace Grigg, 1805 Clayton Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Grigg, 86, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Michael Joiner and Jim McDonald will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dalton Lee Bell, John Foster, Preston Means, Al Lewis, Johnny Ellis and Dwayne Pounds. Honorary pallbearers will be the Artesia Good Sams and 0l' Codger Coffee Group. PMr. Grigg was born January 20, 1920 in Beasley, Texas; the son of George Grigg and Jessie Mae Winn Grigg. POn April 27, 1941 he was married to Tana Cox in Brownfield, Texas. He came to Artesia in 1979 from Pinon, and then moved to Carlsbad in 1988. She preceded him in death Mar. 6, 1993. PHe was a Plant Operator for Humble Oil until retiring in 1971 and became a rancher. He was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, Artesia Good Sams Club, and 0l' Codgers Coffee Group in Carlsbad. He was a survivor of the New London School explosion of 1937 in New London, Texas. PHe was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Edwin Grigg.
Survivors include daughter Tam Bell of Artesia; brother Bill Grigg and wife Dorothy of Harrison, Arkansas; grandchildren Dalton Lee Bell, Jole Bell, and Sarah Bell; great-grandchildren Joel Thomas Bell and Katelynn Paige Bell; 1 niece and 2 nephews. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to your charity of choice.
