Hilario Saiz

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Our Lady of Grace Cathoic Church for Hilario H. Saiz of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Saiz, 84, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Luevano, Sammy Luevano, Jr., Hilario Guerrero, Salvador Guerrero,Justin Tyrone Saiz, and Richard Ray Molina. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace at 6:30 p.m.

Hilario was born October 21, 1926 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Calletano Saiz and Tomasa Heredia Saiz. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

On November 25, 1956 he was married to Estela Brito in Artesia.

Hilario worked as a farmer and a rancher. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents sisters Marcela Cortez, Maria Saiz, Ramona Laguna, Altagracia Cota, and Francisca Cortez brothers Juan Saiz, Manueal Saiz, and Jesus granddaughter Angelina Saiz greatgranddaughters Elora LeeAnn Sanchez and Micaela LeeAnn Sanchez.

Survivors include his wife Estela Saiz of the family home daughters Yolanda Luevano and husband Sammy of Gardendale, Texas Hilda Guerrero and Troy Hatten of Kellyville, Oklahoma sons Albert B. Saiz and wife Candi of Midland, Texas, Jessie Saiz and wife Becky of Midland, Henry Saiz and wife Clara of Rociada, N.M., and David Gutierrez and wife Billie of Goldendale, Washington sister Margarita Rodriguez of Visalia, California brother Frank Saiz of Artesia grandchildren Melissa Luevano, Anthony Luevano, Sammy Luevano, Jr Amy Hernandez, Hilarie Sanchez, MaryCatherine Saiz, Hilario Guerrero, Liliana Guerrero, Salvador Guerrero, Jennifer Saiz, Rose Saiz, and Michelle Saiz, Hudd Gutierrez, Alexandria Gutierrez, Micaela Gutierrez, Magdalena Gutierrez, Justin Saiz, Jessie Saiz, and Esperanza Saiz greatgrandchildren Victoria Segura, Andelee Jennifer Knight, William Louis Sanchez, Draven Lee Sanchez, Liliana Kelly, Shawn Kelly, and Gabriella Luevano.
