Henry Heath

Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 8 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Austin, Texas for Henry M. Heath of Caldwell, Texas. Mr. Heath, 81, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002 in Caldwell. Services are also scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 12 at Terpening Son Mortuary in Artesia, N.M followed by burial at the Hagerman Cemetery in Hagerman, N.M. Mr. Heath was born April 12, 1921 in Fort Worth, Texas; the son of Milton Mac Heath and Mary Louise Foster Heath. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was a First Lieutenant and Flight Instructor. He married Laura E. Derrick in May of 1945 in Roswell, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1956 from Durango, Colo. She preceded him in death October 15, 1981. He was also preceded in death by wife Hazel Hayes Heath. On June 12, 2000 he married June Mauney. A longtime resident of Austin, Texas, Mr. Heath was a retired oilfield worker. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Caldwell and the Old Mens Polar Bear Club. He enjoyed flying, fishing and swimming in Barton Springs. Survivors include his wife June Heath of the family home; a son Milton Heath of Austin; step-children Debbie Duke, Danny Van and Darrell Van; a sister Scottie Ash of San Antonio, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
