Hazle Swinford

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Terpening Son Mortuary in Artesia, New Mexico for longtime Artesia resident Hazle Leatrice Swinford of Roswell, N.M. Mrs. Swinford, 95, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Brother Lewis Mowrey will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Swinford was born November 19, 1906 in Menard, Texas; the daughter of James N. Egger and Amelia Estes Egger. On May 18, 1940 she was married to Walter L. Swinford in Mountainair, N.M. She came from there to Artesia in May of 1940. Her husband preceded her in death January 18, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother and four sisters. She was a housewife and member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son Stanley L. Swinford of Roswell; a daughter Melba B. Brewer of Clovis, N.M.; grandsons David W. Swinford of Montclair, Calif. and Paul L. Swinford, Jerry D. Swinford and John A. Swinford all of Roswell; great-grandsons Jeffery B. Swinford, Bradley X. Swinford and Joshua T. Swinford all of Montclair, Calif. and Ryan Swinford of Roswell.
