Harvey Thomas

Graveside Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 at Woodbine cemetery for Harvey R. Thomas of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Thomas, 86, went to heaven peacefully on October 21, 2017 with his wife Jackie and special granddaughter Savannah Odom by his side.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Harvey was born on September 9, 1931 in Bogata, TX; the son of William Lee Thomas and Linnie Bell (Aldridge) Thomas. He came to Artesia in 2001 from Dallas, TX. On May 5, 2007 he married Jackie (McClellan) Sellers in Artesia.

He loved to do woodworking, play golf, travel and go to garage sales. He was an avid sports fan and played various musical instruments. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed visitng with his children, grandchildren and his many friends. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Survivors include his wife Jackie Sellers-Thomas of the family home; son Richard E. Thomas of Houston, TX; daughters Brenda Sanz, Jan Paschal (Jeff) and Gail Vaughn (Jack) all of Sacramento, CA; step-sons Eddie Sellers (Joanna Martin) of Artesia, James Sellers (Callie) of Roswell, NM and Larry Sellers (Joni) of Greenwood, TX; step-daughter Kandy Lopez of Faywood, NM; 17 grandchildren including Savannah Odom and husband Robert; numerous great-grandchildren.
