Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sep. 21, at West Main Baptist Church for Harvey D. Howard of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Howard, 74, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at his home.
Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Timothy Howard, Nathan Howard, Austin Howard, Cody Howard, David Frederick, Israel Mariscal, and Kevin Hartley.
Mr. Howard was born May 21, 1936 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Carson Howard and Estelle Bailey Howard.
He served his country in the National Guard.
On June 23, 1956 he was married to Jane Lewis in Artesia. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.
Harvey was a Journeyman Electrician and worked underground at the potash mines. He was an Artesia High School graduate of 1955, member of West Main Baptist Church, the Artesia Masonic Lodge, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was also an accomplished artist.
He was preceded in death by his parents brother Gary Howard and his wife Mary.
Survivors include his wife Jane Howard of the family home sons Lee Roy Howard and wife Kathy of Artesia, Dean Howard of Artesia, Michael Howard and wife Michelle of Carrizozo, N.M., and Patrick Howard and wife Julie of Las Cruces, N.M. brother Calvin Howard grandchildren Tim Howard, Shawna Frederick, Nathan Howard, Austin Howard, Chelsea Cavalcante and husband Kay, and Cody Howard greatgrandchildren Nichole Frederick, Alex Frederick, Ethan Frederick, and Alexis Howard.
