Harvey Gideon

Memorial services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at First United Methodist Church in Artesia for lifelong Truth or Consequences, N.M. resident Harvey Nell Gideon. PMrs. Gideon, 87, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, N.M. PRev. Paul Dean Duerksen will officiate at the services. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Gideon donated her body to the University of New Mexico School of Medicine for medical research. PShe was born December 29, 1919 in Mountainair, New Mexico; the daughter of Charles Hibler and Cathyrin Bell Hampton Hibler. POn April 12, 1946 she was married to Delbert D. Gideon in Hot Springs, N.M. He preceded her in death February 20, 2000. She moved to Carlsbad in November, 2002 from Truth or Consequences. PShe was also preceded in death by her parents; and by sisters Dorothy Geery and June Shaddox. PShe was a retired beautician and a member of the Methodist denomination.
Survivors include a son Delbert Gideon of Artesia; grandchildren Devon Ross Gideon of Albuquerque and Courtney Anne Gideon of Portales, N.M.; a brother Charles Hampton Hibler and wife Betty of Truth or Consequences; and a nephew Floyd Geery and wife Betsy of El Paso, Texas.
