Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Terpening Son Chapel for Harold W. Thompson, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Thompson, 69, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in Lubbock, Texas. Larry Richardson will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Thompson, Steven Thompson, Chris Cook, Christopher Claney, Aarmon Guillen, and Jakoda Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be John Ironmonger, Elvin Reiser, Dub Laman, Lupe Marquez and C.L. Adams. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Thompson was born June 26, 1940 in Depew, Oklahoma; the son of Marvin Thomas Thompson and Dorothy May Graves Thompson. On Feb. 11, 1959 he was married to Jacqulyn Ironmonger in Clayton, N.M. He came to Artesia in 1962 from Pampa, Texas. She preceded him in death June 8, 2009. He was an oil field pumper and also worked at Dean's, Inc. He was a member of Centre Ave. Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronnie Thompson. Survivors include son Robert Thompson and wife Kenni of Artesia; daughter Tammy Trujillo and husband Frank of Artesia; brothers Alfred Thompson and wife Lila of Artesia, Darrell Thompson and wife Elaine of Artesia, and Tommy Thompson and wife Martha of Denair, California; sister Kay White and husband Darrell of Avery, Texas; grandchildren Jessica Lynn Trujillo and Jonathon David Trujillo; numerous nieces and nephews.
