Graveside services are scheduled at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 10, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia, N.M. for former Artesia resident Hallie Hokett of Altus, Oklahoma. Rev. Michael J. Elliott will officiate at the services. Mrs. Hokett, 89, died Monday, May 3, 2004 in Altus. She was born September 3, 1914 near Granite, Oklahoma; the daughter of Gabriel Ardell Sewell and Delilah Ann Howard Sewell. On October 11, 1931 she was married to Johnnie Albert Hokett in Oklahoma. They came to Artesia in 1954 from Hobart, Oklahoma. Her husband preceded her in death July 7, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Vadus, Gorman, Bailey, Clarence and Anson; and by sisters Winnie, Nannie and Rosalee. She was a homemaker; a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Artesia; and enjoyed baking and sewing doll clothes, animal pillows and quilts for family and friends. Survivors include sons David Lee Hokett and wife Winn of San Antonio, Texas, Ray Lynn Hokett of Del City, Okla., Anson Ardell Hokett and wife Judith of Tucson, Arizona, and James Allen Hokett and wife Cat of Magdalena, N.M.; daughters Judy Ann Signorelli and husband George of Altus, and Janice Hokett of Magdalena; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
