Guillermo Franco

Private funeral services are scheduled for Guillermo "Willie" Franco Sr. of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Franco, 80, died June 9, 2020 at his home in Artesia.

Michael Elliott will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Guillermo was born June 25, 1939 in Mapimi, Durango, Mexico; the son of Alvaro Franco and Eva Cortez Franco.

He was a longtime resident of Artesia.

Willie served in the United States Army. He was a faithful servant of God. He loved horses, going to Timberon and the mountains, spending time with his grandchildren, family and church family, and was always listening to christian music.. He especially enjoyed when Dayton would drive him around in his truck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorenza Franco, a son Willie Franco Jr., sister Teresita Franco and a brother Antonio Franco

Survivors include his sons Joe R. Franco and wife Nancy, and Solomon Franco; daughters Susanna Aragon, Sophy Briseno, Delores Ramirez and husband Frank, and Sonya Flores and husband Jerry; brothers Alvaro Franco and wife Anna; Frank Franco and wife Rosio, Javier Franco and wife Shirley, Pedro Franco and wife Margret, and Raul Franco; sisters Rosa Guerra, Rita Lugo and husband Thomas, Elva Luna and husband Larry, and Vangie Kon and husband Dennis; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
