Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Guadalupe T. Armendariz of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Armendariz, 91, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Artesia General Hospital.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his family members.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Guadalupe was born January 19, 1924 in Chihuahua, Mexico; the son of Luis Armendariz and Maria de Jusus (Trevizo) Armendariz. He came to Artesia in 1951 from Mexico.
In 1955 he was married to Maria Bertha Gardea in Chihuahua Mexico. She preceded him in death on June 3, 1986. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Guadalupe was a farm laborer and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was a Crucillista, and a member of the Holy Name. Guadalupe loved to dance, play bingo, and was always cracking jokes about people.
Survivors include his daughters Ivonne Armendariz of San Diego, California, and Bertha Armendariz of Yucca Valley, California; sons Lupe Armendariz and wife Luly of Artesia, and Armando Armendariz and Debbie of Chihuahua; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; Sister Maria de Jesus Gardea of Chihuahua; and brothers Jose Armendariz of Lake Arthur, N.M. and Pablo Armendariz of Chihuahua.
