Greg Bannister

Memorial services are scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, at First Baptist Church for Gregory Don Bannister of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Bannister, 51, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at his home.

Rev. Peggy White will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Jeff Bannister, Johnathon Bannister, Brian Bannister, Pete Barrera, Chad Murry, Shane Thompson, and Monti Carlo.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Greg was born July 22, 1961 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Donald A. Bannister and Charlotte Gay Boggs Yates. He was a longtime Artesia resident.

On April 3, 1981 he was married to Olga Barrera in Carlsbad, N.M.

Greg last worked as a motorman in the oil fields. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, fatherinlaw, and motherinlaw.

Survivors include his wife Olga Bannister of the family home sons Jeff Bannister of North Dakota, Johnathon Bannister and fianc Jamie of Artesia, and Brian Bannister and wife Elva of Artesia father Don Bannister and wife Joan of Hagerman, N.M. mother Charlotte Gay Yates and husband John A., Sr. of Artesia brothers Scott Bannister and wife Teri of Las Cruces, N.M., and John A. Yates, Jr. and wife Nancy of Artesia sister Cynthia Price and husband Lester of Carbondale, CO grandchildren Morgan, Payshence, Aliyah, Justin, Brittany, Ozzy, Casey, Jennifer, Ashley, and Nickolas and numerous nephews and nieces and friends.
