Gracie Sheets

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 31 at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Gracie Sheets of Artesia, New Mexico. Rick Counts will officiate at the services. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Sheets, 86, died Monday, March 29, 2004 in Roswell, New Mexico. Gracie was born July 21, 1917 in Carnegie, Oklahoma; the daughter of Albert Smedley and Anna Bell Anderson Smedley. On September 21, 1933 she was married to Clarence Sheets in Alamogordo, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1937 from Cloudcroft, N.M. Her husband preceded her in death December 30, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by three sisters. She was a housewife and member of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include sons Bob Sheets of Roswell, N.M. and Jake Sheets of Midland, Texas; daughters Mary Jo Counts of Roswell and Frances Kinsey of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother Wallace Smedley of Austin, Texas; a sister Liddie Mullins of Lubbock, Texas; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
