Gordon Sanders

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17 at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel for Gordon Othen Sanders of El Paso, TX.

Mr. Sanders, 85, died on November 9, 2017 at Global Hospice in El Paso, Texas.

Fr. Frances Lazer will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fabio Sanders, Boonie Michael Gonzales, Marcos Cabral, Mickey Cabral, Carlos Gutierrez and Roman Granados. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Cabral, Adam Gutierrez, Samuel Reveles Jr., Gabriel Granados, and Jose Cabral.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Gordon was born on August 31, 1932 in Canyon Tear, TX to Anthony George Sanders and Zenobia (Trials) Sanders.

On September 24, 1955 he married Ofelia Granados in Guadalupe, Mexico. She preceded him in death on July 22, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his sister Irma Green and a brother A.D. Sanders.

Gordon was a longtime resident of Hagerman, N.M. before moving to El Paso two years ago. He was a mechanic and member of St, Catherine's church in Hagerman. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Lions Club of Hagerman.

Survivors include his daughter Melissa Morales and husband Carlos of Carlsbad, N.M.; brothers Clyde Sanders, A.C. Sanders and Melvin Sanders; grandchildren Fabio Sanders and Boonie Michael Gonzales; great-granddaughters Ofelia Marie Sanders and Amaris Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.
