Gonzala Bustamante

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jun. 8, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Gonzala Hernandez Bustamante of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Bustamante, 87, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Fr. Valentine Jankowski OFMConv. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Gonzala was born January 15, 1925 in Loving, New Mexico the daughter of Presiliano Hernandez and Maria Sanchez Hernandez. She came to Artesia in 1946 from Mexico.

On June 27, 1966 she was married to Valentin Bustamante in El Paso, Texas. He preceded her in death March 20, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

Gonzala was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Survivors include her 2 cousins that were raised as siblings Amado Hernandez and wife Frances of Artesia, and Francisca H. Madrid of Odessa, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
