Services are scheduled at 9:30 AM. Tuesday, March 22, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Gloria Duran Ortega, 909 W. Washington Ave. Artesia, New Mexico. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary, Monday, starting at 10:00 AM. The rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Grace Monday at 6:30 P.M. Mrs. Ortega, 63, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at her home. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Johnson, Ernest Duran, Miguel Duran, Frank Luevano, Augustine Levario, and Enez Aguirre. Mrs. Ortega was born April 12, 1941 in Artesia, N.M.; the daughter of Juan Duran and Concepcion Renteria Duran. On Nov. 9, 1965 she was married to Pablo Ortega in Artesia. She is a lifelong resident of Artesia. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a son. Mrs. Ortega was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include daughters Mary Ruiz and husband Breidgo of Minturn, Colorado, Elva Visquez and husband Jimmy of Anaheim, California, Barbara Ortega of Artesia, and Rita Ortega of Ballinger, Texas; sons Jimmy Ortega and wife Lorina of Carlsbad, N.M., Jerry Ortega and wife Sheila of Artesia, Arthur Ortega and wife Sheryl of Artesia, and Paul Ortega and wife Pamela of Artesia; sisters Margaret Valdez of Lovington, N.M., Lupe Ortega of Artesia, and Rosa Garcia of Artesia; brothers Manuel Duran of Artesia, Louis Duran of Artesia, Henry Duran of Artesia, Juan Duran of Artesia, and Miguel Duran of Artesia; 29 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
