Glenn G. Voss, 93, of Artesia, N.M. passed away January 16, 2004, at home, surrounded by loving family. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Post, Texas, conducted by Hudman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Terrace Cemetery. On May 1, 1910, Glenn Gafford Voss was born to Charlie Voss and Annie Wilson Voss in Clay County, Henrietta, Texas. Glenn graduated from Post High School in 1941. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1941 and was assigned to the Air Corp in San Antonio, Texas. He was stationed at Las Vegas, Nevada and Greenland. After his discharge in 1945 he came home and helped his father on the farm in Garza County. After his fathers death, he continued to manage the farm until he retired and moved to Post. Glenn married Mable Dunlap, February 24, 1979, in Roswell, N.M. in the home of Mables daughter, Geraldine and step son-in-law, James King. In 1999, due to Glenns health, he and Mable moved to Artesia to be close to their daughter, Geraldine King-Wilks. Glenn was a member of Hermosa Drive Baptist Church in Artesia. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Mother May Voss; stepsister, Margaret Piatt; one sister, Mary Parr and husband Knox; three brothers, C.M. Voss and wife Barbara; Weldon Voss and wife Vera, and Tom Voss, and step-son-in-law James King. Glenn is survived by his wife Mable of the home, 1 stepdaughter Geraldine King-Wilks of Artesia and her husband Bennie Wilks of Post; one stepson, Bob Dunlap and wife, Carol of Port Angeles, Washington, 8 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers are Ronnie Gradine, Dee Hodges, Darrell Reese, Dan Hodges, Lee Norman, and Jim Wells. Memorials may be given to Hospice Vista Care, 611 N. Canal, Carlsbad, NM, 88220 or the charity of your choice.
