Glenda Maurer

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel for Glenda Faye Maurer of Artesia, New Mexico. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14.

Glenda, 68, left this earth to be with her heavenly father on January 7, 2020 at her home with her husband and children by her side.

Glenda was born July 7, 1951 in Meadow Texas, the daughter of Preston Gotcher and Letha (Malone) Gotcher.

On December 28th, 1971 she was married to Michael Maurer in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Dr. Ed Hickey will officiate at the services with burial following services at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, N.M.. Pallbearers will be her son Michael Maurer, grandsons Ohlin Skeen, Greg Davis, William Davis, Preston Maurer, Dakota Maurer, Michael Maurer, and Kaden Sallee. Honorary Pallbearers will be her son-in-laws David Skeen, Ronny Davis, and Jeremy Sallee.

Glenda enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, bowling, cooking, watching "Days of Our Lives" and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids and her best friend since early childhood Shirley (Gibson) Caple. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Preston and Letha Gotcher, siblings Betty Sinclair, Laverne Strawn, Buford Gotcher, Richard Gotcher, Preston Gotcher, and 4 nephews .

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Michael, 4 children Gayla Skeen and husband David of Alto, NM, Tammy Davis and husban Ronny of Artesia, NM, Michael Maurer Jr. and wife Toni of Artesia, NM, and Jennifer Sallee and husband Jeremy of Artesia, NM, 13 Grandchildren Ohlin and Annalyn Skeen; Greg, Kendra,Tawny and William Davis; Preston, Dakota, Marly and Michael Maurer; Kaylie, Katelynn,and Kaden Sallee, and 5 great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley Sanchez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenda was loved by many, a true joy to be around and will be missed tremendously.
