Gladys Irine Ellis was born February 28, 1939 in Artesia, NM to Harry and Birdie (Swinford) Pinson. She died January 16, 2017 in Artesia, NM.

She was married to Robert Ellis, Sr. in Artesia NM on October 8, 1955. One of her greatest accomplishments in life was being a wife and mother to her five children. A longtime homemaker and caregiver to many, Mrs. Ellis was also a seamstress. Quilting for newcomers to the family by way of marriage and for her new grandbabies and great-grandbabies was her passion. She also loved to sing old hymns in church and to travel and attend gun shows with her beloved husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Walter Robert Pinson, M.T. (Pinky) Pinson and Charles Ted Pinson, daughter Donna Denine Barber, and grandson D. Robert-Martin Harvey.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Robert, daughter Diana Harvey and husband Danny, daughter Debbra Garrett and husband Kenny, son Robert W. Ellis, Jr and fiancé Tonya Rank, son Ricky Ellis and wife Linda, sister Katy Pollock and husband Jim, sister Onie Davis and husband Bob, brother Willie Pinson and wife Denise, and sister-n-law LaRue Pinson all of Artesia, NM. Grandchildren: Kortney Garrett and wife Megan of Lubbock, TX; Kandice Barley and husband Wesley of Artesia, Joshua Garrett and wife Tammie of Lubbock, TX; Eric Kaiser and wife Erica of Plains, TX; Kenzie Taylor and husband Brandt of Lubbock, TX; Nathan Harvey of Artesia, NM; Kelsie Sanchez and husband Jesus of Midland, TX; Brenden Harvey and wife Heather of Artesia, NM; Stacy Harvey of Lubbock, TX; Casey Ellis and Geno Ellis of Artesia, NM and Jehra Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM.Great-Grandchildren: Austin Harvey, JD Harvey, Kaydence Garrett, Parker Garrett, Kaleb Garrett, Logan D. Garrett, Bryant Bilberry, Easton Taylor, Embree Taylor all of Lubbock Texas; Aidan Kaiser Barley, Millie Barley, MaxiMae Barley, Kaylan Wood Harvey, Caliber Harvey, and Corbin Davis Harvey-Mayberry of Artesia, NM; Gus Kaiser of Plains, TX; and little David Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at Centre Ave Baptist Church at 10:00 on January 21, 2017 with Rev. G. Eric Kaiser and Bro. Dennis Davis officiating with graveside services held at a later date at Woodbine Cemetery.
