Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Gilbert Serrano, 31 Marsha Drive, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Serrano, 50, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Abel Serrano, Joshua Serrano, Jacob Serrano, Gabriel Serrano, Joseph Serrano, Larry Serrano, Mario Serrano and Jessie Grado. A rosary service is also planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace.
Gilbert was born January 1, 1961 in Fort Stockton, Texas the son of Jose O. Serrano and Trinidad Sosa Serrano. His father preceded him in death.
He married Betty Vigil on August 22, 1987 in Midland, Texas.
He was a foreman with Posey Pipe Company in Midland. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a loving grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Betty Serrano of Midland his mother Trini Serrano of Artesia a son Abel Gilbert Serrano of Midland daughters Crystal Serrano and Shelby Serrano both of Midland brothers Joe Serrano, Jr. of Artesia, David Serrano of Artesia, Ernest Serrano of Midland, Rudy Serrano of Midland, and Robert Lee Serrano of Albuquerque, N.M. sisters Cora Jean Serrano of El Paso, Texas and Mary Ann Serrano of Artesia and six grandchildren.
