Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, at First Baptist Church for Gilbert Lee Kreamer, West Merchant Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Kreamer, 83, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Lubbock, Texas. PRev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kent Whitmire, Darwin Thompson, Aaron Horner, Bruce Waldrip, Charles Holder, George Chumbley, John Yates, Jr., and Stephen Tunnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Loyd Polk, Willie Stone, and the Adult 7 Mens Sunday School class at First Baptist Church. PVisitation will be at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary beginning at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. PMr. Kreamer was born August 15, 1922 in Miller Flats, New Mexico; the son of Charles Oliver Kreamer and Eugenia Caroline Steffey Kreamer. PHe served in the United States Army during World War II and came to Artesia in 1946 from Weed, N.M. PHe was married to Genevieve Winters on June 2, 1946 in Sacramento, N.M. She preceded him in death on August 21, 1996. POn January 9, 1999, he married Glynn Dockray Tunnell in Artesia. PHe was a blender pumper operator for Navajo Refinery for 30 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and Eastern Star. PHe was also preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and one brother. PSurvivors include his wife Glynn Kreamer of family home; sons Bill Kreamer and wife Rita of Staten Island, N.Y., Robert Kreamer and wife Sue of Spokane, Wash., and Arthur Tunnell and wife Diane of Clovis, N.M.; daughters Melinda Hand and husband Jim of Artesia and Sharon Thomas of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren Kellie Kreamer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jason Kreamer of Spokane, and Stephen Tunnell and Hannah Tunnell both of Clovis.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Drawer 629, Portales, NM 88130; Masonic Charities; Vision 2000 at First Baptist Church; or to a charity of choice.
