Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Artesia, N.M., for German S. Hernandez, 1702 Callejon Emilia St., Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Mr. Hernandez, 87, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at in Santa Fe, NM.
Father Brian Guerrini SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Caesar Garcia, David Garcia, Michael Williams, William Serich, Michael Hernandez, and Herman Hernandez.
A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
German was born September 6, 1925 in Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Jose De La Cruz and Faustina Sanchez De La Cruz. He came to Artesia in 1964 from Mexico.
On Aug. 4, 1954 he was married to Concepcion Brito in Ojinaga, Mexico.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the N.M. State Highway Department. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Concepcion Hernandez of Santa Fe sons Luis Arturo Hernandez and wife Carrie of Artesia, and Herman Hernandez of Santa Fe daughters Luz Elena Garcia and husband Aaron of Santa Fe, Caroline Williams husband Danny of Bartlesville Oklahoma, Obelia Balda and husband Dave of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Marisela Hernandez of Santa Fe brothers Antonio Hernandez of Chihuahua, Mexico, Elizardo Hernandez of Ojinaga, Mexico, Jose Hernandez of Ojinaga, and Carlos Hernandez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma sisters Amada Renteria of Chihuahua, Felicitas Aranda of Phoenix, Arizona, Amalia Valenzuela of Juarez, Mexico, and Angelica Valdez of Ojinaga 12 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
